The postgraduate programmes in Botany are designed to meet the manpower need of Researach Institutions Polytechnics, Colleges of Education and the Universities.
They are also design in such a way that candidates while having a broad base knowledge in advance Botany, can also specialised in any of the areas of Botany such as Physiology, Ecology, Taxonomy and Cytogenetics or Mycology and Pathology.
Programmes offered include the degree of Master (M.Sc); master of philosophy (M.Phil) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D).
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR MASTER OF SCIENCE (M.Sc) in Botany
I. The programme is open to candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Botany, Biology, Microbiology, and Agricultural Biology or any related subjects and equivalent qualification of the University of Lagos of any other approved University.
II. A candidate may be additionally required to satisfy a selection process.

The programme shall be 2 semester of course work and Research (one year)
