Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Botany
I. The programme is open to candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Botany, Biology, Microbiology, and Agricultural Biology or any related subjects and equivalent qualification of the University of Lagos of any other approved University,
ii A candidate maybe additionally required to satisfy a selection process.
Master of Philosophy (M.Pil) Doctor of Philosophy in Botany

1. The M.PhiI. programme: is open to candidates with either:
   (a) A Bachelor’s degree in B Biology, Microbiology, Agriculture Biology or any other related subjects with a minimum of Second Oat Division) or
   (b) An M.Sc. in Botany or re subject, of this or any other approved University,

2. The Ph.D. programme is open only to candidates having an equivalent qualification in Botany or related subject.
   GENERAL COURSE CONT

* Economic Botany: Nigerian economic plants, botany of economic plants, cultivation, breeding techniques
* Plant Ecology: Modern concepts in ecology, tissue and soil analysis methods taxonomic data, systems and associated
* Taxonomy and Cytogenetics: and hebarium techniques and presentation of tax or breeding systems and associated taxonomic problems. Plant Physiology: Environmental Pollution impacts, growth and development, stress physiology, structure-function interplay Phycology: Aquatic ecosystems, Algal culturing techniques, Taxonomy and ecology of algae
˟Mycology and Pathology: Taxonomy, physiology and ecology of fungi, plant diseases- causes, mechanism of resistance and control.

˟Paleobotany: Formation and biology of fossils plants, pollen grain studies and application in modern-day science.

Ph.D. 36 months minimum
