The Department of Educational Administration’s programmes include Post—Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Educational Administration and Planning; Master of Education)n (M.Ed.) degree in Educational Administration and Planning; Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) degree in Educational Administration/Planning and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Educational Administration /Planning.

Our postgraduate programmes include specialization n Educational Administration, Educational Planning, Economics of Education, Human Resource Management, Policy Analysis in Education,
Educational Leadership and Teacher Development.

Concerted research efforts are made to explore the problems and policy issues confronting educational planners and managers.

Thebasic principles in programming are the key factors involved in successful implementation of educational plans which provide a focus for these programmes. Practicum attachments with the Federal and State Ministries of Education, and university regulations postgraduate degrees also apply.

POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA IN EDUCATIONAL ADMINISTRATION PLANNING
The programme provides opportunities to those had no knowledge or rudiments of principles and practice of educational administration and planning.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
The course is designed for a holder a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from the University of lagos and any other recognized institution with at least two years relevant work experience.

DURATION
The duration of the programme is three semesters.

MASTER OF EDUCATION (M.Ed.) EDUCATIONAL ADMINISTRATION (PULL TIME & PART TIME)
The course is designed for School Principals, Inspectors and others in administrative positions in the educational system as a means of improving their effectiveness and efficiency.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT:
a) The programme is open to candidates with Bachelor’s degree in Education (not below 2 Class Lower) or holders of the Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), Postgraduate
Diploma in Education Administration and Planning of the University of Lagos or any other recognized university.
b) Candidate may be required to undergo a selection process.

DURATION
The Master of Education by examination and project report extend over one Calendar year of full –time study (2 Semesters)

(a) An M.Ed. Degree or equivalent in Educational Administration/Planning of this or other approved University;

The duration of the programme is minimum of two semesters and maximum of four semesters.

(i) Prepare holders of the degree for the Ph.D. programme

(iii) Can serve as a researcher.

DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY (Ph.D.) IN EDUCATIONAL ADMINISTRATION/PLANNING
The Ph.D. programme is open to candidates having an M.PhII. degree (or equivalent) I Educational Administration/Planning of this University or any other recognized university,

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
In order to obtain a Ph.D. degree in Educational Administration/Planning of this University, a candidate must:
(a) Offer and pass a minimum of six (6) units and a maximum of 12 units of course at the 900 level;
(b) Satisfy’s all and other regulation as stipulated in the regulations of the School of Postgraduate Studies.

The duration of the p minimum of six semesters maximum of ten semesters

i) The Ph.D. holder is already prepared for academics and administration at senior levels especially in tertiary institution.

    Hello, please I’d like to know what 3 semester means, does it mean 1 year and half or one year.
    I applied for post graduate studies in Educational administration and it’s only part time, no full time.
